Cleaner Water = Cleaner Body

When I was in nursing school, I remember my pharmacology teacher telling us that we are all walking around severely dehydrated. I don't think it's hard to imagine that your body would not be working

optimally if dehydrated. Hydrating with coffee, or other caffeinated beverages sadly does not count. :( Second to air, water is the most needed substance for the body to survive! I chose to hydrate with the best and have researched quite a bit on water filtration systems. Also, with my immune system being on the sluggish side, I knew that I needed to add more "tools to my toolbox". With that said, I decided to start drinking high quality water by using one of the top water filtration systems (Aquaperform by

Multipure) to reduce contaminants in my body.

If you look into your local yearly water report, you can see that your tap water may have quite a bit of contaminants in it such as arsenic, pesticides, herbicides, chemicals, disinfection by products, cysts, inorganics, heavy metals, aesthetic treatment, and emerging/incidental contaminants. Www! That's a lot. I highly recommend looking at the report in your area to get an idea of the quality of your tap water. Nonetheless, I recommend getting a high quality water filter to be sure you are reducing these contaminants for you and your family's health.

Lets Look Into The Studies On Possible Contaminants And The Potential Health Effects:

Arsenic: Potential cancer risk, cardiovascular, and dermal effects

Pesticides: Depending on the type of pesticide, it can effect you nervous system, liver, kidneys, reproductive system, bladder, muscles, heart, and can cause cancer risk and endocrine disruption.

Herbicides: Potential damage to the nervous system, mammary glands, thyroid, reproductive organs, liver, kidneys, and cancer risk.

Chemicals: Potential cancer risk and damage to the nervous system, kidneys, liver, reproductive system, lungs, circulatory system, stomach, mucous membranes, and endocrine system.

Disinfection Byproducts: These studies are pending

Cysts: Linked to gastrointestinal disease

Heavy Metals Such As Lead And Mercury: Damage to the nervous system, and kidneys. Lead is highly toxic to infants and pregnant mothers.

Inorganic Such As Asbestos: Cancer risk

Aesthetic Treatment Such As Chlorine and Chloramine: Chlorine creates disinfection byproducts that have been linked to cancer. Water with chloramine is not advised to use in home dialysis machines, aquariums, and ponds.

A Little Science On This Subject:

Environmental pollutants can possibly enter the cell membrane and change the shape of the receptor, making it "looser and sloppier". Pollutants suspended in the cell membrane are altered and interrupt the electron flow, causing "energy starvation" and could result in conditions like chronic fatigue, allergies, and chemical sensitivity. Also, the accumulated pollutants within our bodies are mimicking and disrupting the action of sex hormones - estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone.

Having experienced chronic fatigue and hormonal issues myself, it brings me peace to know that I'm removing some of these contaminants in my drinking water. Since we can't live in a bubble (nor would I want to!) there will always be environmental pollutants around us, but we can chose drink pure water. :)

A Bit About Multiipure:

One of the reason's that I chose Multipure is because it's one of the few companies whose products are NSF certified to reduce such a wide array of drinking water contaminants that can get into water sources through pollution or leaks. This is normally the problem when your area is under a "water boil alert". Having the NSF certification is a promise that Multipure is going to continue to deliver high quality water. :)

NSF Certification is an assurance of quality, performance, and integrity. It states that:

• The system meets the contaminant reduction claims of the manufacturer • The system is not adding anything harmful to the water • The system is structurally sound • Advertising, literature, and labeling are not misleading • The materials and manufacturing process do not change

Solid Block Carbon Filter:

What impressed me is that most filtration systems talk about the importance and strategy of the stages of filtration, whereas Multipure talked extensively about the solid carbon block’s list of chemicals and solids that can effectively filter. Nonetheless, their solid carbon block filter proposes to filter a lot of contaminants which is a very impressive list and ability!

A short description of the filtration stages are mechanical filtration, electrokinetic adsorption, and physiochemical adsorption. The Multipure filter uses adsorption to transfer contaminants onto the filter’s surface and remove it from the water stream. The water itself is temporarily absorbed by the filter material (much like a sponge absorbing water), but the contaminants are adsorbed to the filter surface, creating a layer on the surface as it is removed from the water stream.

There you have it! Please do your own research and take the time to build water awareness for your health. When you are ready, I can certainly help you chose the water filter system that fits your budget and lifestyle. As always, let me know if you have questions or comments. :~)

Thank you for reading. Peace and health to you!
